Starting to get Social at 10 months

At 10 months, Ayra is starting to interact and communicate with others. She likes to stare look at new faces around her and will try to get close and communicate (in their own baby way) with other human of her size.

Having visited and played at Hokey Pokey for several times now, she gets comfortable roaming around upon having her feet touch the blue mats. During the past two visits, she paid more attention to people around her, and when she spot a friendly human of her size, she'll crawl towards her and initiate play.

Once our neighbor's grandson came to play; he who is 13 days older than Ayra only had his attention on the toys around him and ignored everyone else. Ayra had her eyes on people around and kept wanting to get Jonas's attention. She waved her hands in front of him, tried to touch his arms and shoulders and even screamed to get his attention. Jonas just didn't want to interact. They still managed to play a little together, more like Ayra snatching her toys back from Jonas. Ha!

The other day, we had my best friend and her son came to visit. Baby Leonard is 1.5 months younger than Ayra. Ayra seemed to enjoy having him around in her playard. She will sit close and watch him play and will inch forward to him to touch him.

For me, I believe it is good to have baby learn to interact and play with others from young, especially when she's the only child. I try to bring her out once a week at least to meet new friends. When we have our own house in Punggol, I hope to organize regular play dates with friends and their children.
